The Infosys Metro Entry-Exit Plaza at Gate-5 of the Bengaluru campus is a critical transit node, directly linking the office complex with the operational Konappana Agrahara Metro Station on the Yellow Line. TRC Worldwide Engineering (India) led the structural engineering for the 50,000 Sq. ft. facility, ensuring durable, efficient access to the metro.
Engineered with a robust two-level reinforced concrete structure alongside an independent steel roof, the facility streamlines campus access and employee security. The plaza’s column-free expanse (24mx43m) ensures flexible use of space, hosting access control and baggage screening units, grand staircase, and escalators for seamless passenger flow. Employees access the metro through a dedicated walkway beneath the viaduct.
The RC system features columns, shear walls, beams, and slabs; lateral resistance is provided by ordinary moment-resisting frames working with shear walls. The steel hall was planned and erected around an operational underground reservoir (UGR) critical to campus utilities—detailing and construction sequencing avoided disturbance to the existing asset. Long-span trusses deliver exceptional clear height (10m), supporting the steel roof and full-height glazing for natural light. Around 90 metric tons of steel were used, with the design team prioritizing material optimization and environmental sustainability.
