TRC Worldwide Engineering provided the precast engineering services for the structured parking component of the mixed-use development at 100 West Worthington Avenue in Charlotte, North Carolina. The project includes a 23-story high-rise office tower supported by an integrated multi-level parking structure.
The parking garage spans approximately seven levels and is constructed using a structural precast concrete framing system, providing efficient long-span parking bays and rapid construction. The precast structure incorporates double-tee floor members supported by precast beams and columns, forming a durable and highly efficient parking solution.
The precast system is structurally separated from the tower through an expansion joint, allowing the parking structure to support the lower building levels while the tower transitions to a structural steel frame above Level 9. Architectural precast panels with thin-brick finishes were used to integrate the garage façade with the surrounding urban context.
The parking structure provides roughly 140,000 square feet of parking area, utilizing a split-level ramp system to maximize circulation efficiency within the constrained urban site.
