To support the continued growth of Orange Regional Medical Center and its Emergency Department expansion, a new multi-tier structured parking facility was developed to deliver efficient, high-capacity parking within the active hospital campus.
The approximately 232,000-square-foot garage provides 628 parking spaces across four parking tiers and is directly integrated with the hospital via a dedicated pedestrian bridge, improving safe and convenient patient and staff access. The facility was planned around a highly efficient structural grid to maximize stall count while maintaining clear vehicular circulation and straightforward wayfinding.
TRC provided precast engineering services for the structure, developing a long-span precast concrete framing system optimized for repetition, constructability, and durability in a demanding healthcare environment. The precast system supports wide bay spacing that minimizes interior columns and enhances parking efficiency across the deck.
Special attention was given to the design of the precast perimeter elements, which were engineered to resist vehicular impact while maintaining the open-air performance characteristics required for an S-2 parking occupancy. The structure also incorporates coordinated ramp transitions between tiers and integrates with multiple stair and elevator cores that provide compliant egress and vertical circulation throughout the facility.
