The US-1 / S. Dixie Highway corridor improvement project delivered the rehabilitation and modernization of a 2.7-mile segment of a key urban roadway in Miami-Dade County, Florida, extending from SW 80 Street to Riviera Drive. The project focused on restoring pavement performance, enhancing multimodal safety, and improving overall traffic operations along a heavily traveled corridor.

Scope included milling and resurfacing to improve roadway conditions, along with targeted geometric and signal infrastructure upgrades to support safer and more efficient movement. Intersection enhancements, median taper modifications, and ADA-compliant pedestrian features were implemented to improve accessibility, visibility, and user experience for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists alike.

Traffic monitoring systems were incorporated to support data-driven decision-making and long-term corridor management. The design also required careful coordination with existing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration of new elements without disrupting ongoing operations.
