TRC Worldwide Engineering
TRC provided precast engineering services for approximately 98,034 square feet of insulated precast concrete wall panels as part of a 376,850-square-foot data center shell in Aurora, Illinois.
The precast scope consisted of full-height, insulated sandwich wall panels that form a critical portion of the building enclosure, supporting both structural performance and long-term thermal efficiency. Rising over 36 feet in height, the panels were engineered for constructability, repetition, and rapid installation - helping accelerate enclosure of the facility under a phased “cold dark shell” delivery approach.
TRC’s work included panel design, connection detailing, and coordination with the structural steel and foundation systems to ensure efficient load transfer and seamless integration with the overall building structure. The insulated precast system provides continuous thermal performance and a durable exterior envelope, reducing the need for additional wall assemblies while meeting the stringent performance requirements of a data center environment.
