The West Tennessee Veterans Home was designed as a community-focused campus incorporating durable, regionally familiar materials including brick, steel, and wood. The facility is organized into three primary buildings — two residential “neighborhoods,” each composed of four houses, and a central community building serving as the social and activity hub.

The community center creates an immediate visual impact upon entry, while a generous connection corridor runs the length of the campus, integrating gathering spaces and seating areas to enhance circulation efficiency for both residents and staff.

An exterior plaza extends from the main activity areas and connects through operable garage-style doors, allowing indoor and outdoor spaces to function as one and providing flexibility for large public and resident gatherings.
