TRC Worldwide Engineering (India) served as the structural consultant for this basement + ground + 13-storey hostel tower developed by Chanakya University to accommodate student housing on its Bangalore campus. Designed by The Purple Ink Studio, the project follows a courtyard typology, enabling natural light and cross-ventilation across all levels.
The structure features a reinforced concrete (RCC) frame system built using MIVAN formwork technology, enabling uniformity, speed, and quality in execution. TRC’s scope included detailed structural design for both the superstructure and substructure, which is supported on isolated and combined footings tailored to site conditions.
The building accommodates a mix of shared and individual student housing types, spanning approximately 250,000 sq. ft. (2.5 lakh sq. ft.) of built-up area.
Key Structural Components:
• Basement + Ground + 13 residential floors
• RCC frame system with shear walls
• MIVAN aluminum formwork construction
• Isolated and combined footings
