The Bagchi-Parthasarathy Hospital, part of the IISc Medical School Foundation at the IISc campus in Bengaluru, is a not-for-profit multispecialty hospital designed to cater to advanced medical services and research. The project consists of five blocks, each varying in plan dimensions and heights, incorporating basement-level parking and hospital facilities on the upper floors. The building accommodates a range of medical services, including LINAC, X-Ray, MRI, surgical rooms, clinical care areas, laboratories, and staff lodging quarters. The height of the floors is tailored to specific usage needs, ensuring efficiency and functionality in line with modern healthcare standards.

TRC Worldwide Engineering (India) served as the Structural Consultant for this project. The building is supported by an ordinary steel braced frame, featuring concentric braces for lateral stability. All steel beams are designed with pinned connections, including connections to steel columns and walls, to maintain structural integrity under lateral loads. Additionally, steel beam-column connections are designed with enhanced moment-carrying capacity, offering additional strength and rigidity.

The floor system uses structural steel beams acting compositely with concrete-filled metal deck slabs, creating a robust and efficient structural floor system for all levels. The floor slabs also function as rigid diaphragms, transferring lateral forces to the building's core, ensuring stability during seismic or wind loading.
