TRC Worldwide Engineering (India) served as the structural consultant for this Phase 1 software development center within Infosys's 50-acre campus in New Town, Kolkata. Spanning approximately 320,000 sq. ft., the facility accommodates office spaces, a food court, and employee support functions.
Configured as Ground + 4 floors + Terrace, the building is supported on a pile foundation suited to the site's low-lying soil conditions. The superstructure utilizes a post-tensioned beam-and-slab system, creating efficient, column-free floor plates. A distinctive façade feature is the series of RCC columns with 4-meter cantilevered parasols, designed to provide solar shading while enhancing the building's performance.
The campus was designed with a strong focus on environmental performance. The building is organized around a naturally ventilated service core, while the façade combines vertical fins, recessed glazing, and horizontal light shelves to maximize daylight and reduce solar heat gain. Landscaped plazas, shaded walkways, and integrated water features contribute to the site's climate-responsive design. Developed with an investment of INR 4,260 million, the project achieves an Environmental Performance Index (EPI) of 70 and is designed to support a hybrid-ready workforce of more than 4,000 employees.
